DAY 57: Chiltern and South Bucks teams visit Fulmer and Denham for security marking tools and tack

This week, the team are meeting with people on a pre-arranged basis. If you are interested in having the team visit to security mark your property, get in touch with them either by phoning the 101 number and asking to speak to your local neighbourhood policing team or email them. DAYS 45 AND 46: Cherwell and West Oxfordshire host tack marking weekend

As part of the100 days of action campaign tacking rural crime in Cherwell & West Oxfordshire the team hosted two events over the weekend for members of the public in the local area to get their tack marked.  

On Saturday (14/12) the team attended Countrywide Farmers and marked a total of 14 items and also have details of local farmers who would like their equipment marked in the new year. 

So far the team have 30 saddles lined up to be tack marked in the new year. On Sunday (15/12) the team attended Fernhill Farm in Milcombe for some more tack marking as well as hosting the tack marking event in Bicester.

Horse tack, trailers and horse boxes are regularly targeted by thieves. Marking tack is something that could help to deter a would-be thief. Thieves are less likely to steal valuable tack that can be traceable to an owner.

DAY 19: Officers in Ascot are joined by Police Cadets for tack security marking event

Over the weekend, the Windsor and Maidenhead Local Policing Area held rural crime prevention stands in Great Park, Windsor Farm Shop in Windsor and at the Gravity Downhill Race in Maidenhead. A horse tack marking event was also held in Ascot.

In Windsor, 26 people were signed up to Country Watch and 40 plus people came to talk to the team about crime prevention.

The Gravity Downhill Race was attended by 5000 visitors, a great platform for the officers to get their crime prevention messages out!n Another 40 people were signed up to Country Watch and will receive useful information about rural crime in their area, crime prevention advice, witness appeals and good news stories like arrests and convictions.
